Hi if you have the 42 inch cabinet up to the top and add a 12 inch cabinet stacked under that will fill the 9 ft.
Because most people can t reach the upper levels of kitchen cabinets that extend to the ceiling.
But homes are now being built with standard 9 or 10 foot ceilings on the first floor and ceilings at 8 or 9 feet tall on the second floor.
