Gas fireplace shuts off after 20 minutes.

You need to remember to turn it counterclockwise. Today i turn it on and after a few minutes the fireplace went out all by itself. The fireplace does not have an automatic tempature shut off. It turns on fine but after perhaps 10 minutes sometime 30 minutes the length of time varies the unit simply goes off.

Problem started after gas to the house had been turned off for the day. After that you should turn the key a half turn. 15 20 minutes and other times an hour or two. It should say on until i manually turn it off i found that when i first light it the burners stay lit for maybe 15 20 mins.

Heat n glo fireplace fire goes out after a while after 20 min or sometimes up to 1 hour but pilot stays on. To make sure the key is in the right position you can jingle it a little until the lock slid into its place in the keyhole. We have a gas fireplace in our living room. Always worked fine for the 8 years we ve been here.

It shuts down after 20 30 minutes of operation pilot goes off we moved into a new place and we started the fireplace today. It seemed to work a few times but now it will last for maybe 20 minutes and shut off. This action will start the gas flow into the fireplace logs. Any air in the line should be looooong gone.

Often it s not even fully warmed up eg. The pilot gets great contact with the thermocouple when the fireplace is off and its just the pilot lit but when i turn on the fireplace the pilot light gets a little smaller still a strong blue and does. Gas fireplace shuts off and pilot goes out. After about 20 minutes the flame extinguished.

I reach in to th. Though i don t worry too much about carbon monoxide poisoning i figured there must be some safety device to shut off the gas valve. After it goes out and i attempt to relight it the burners will only stay lit for about 5 mins. So guessing it s not a heat sensor.
